Exploration Ground Systems technicians inspect the Orion spacecraft for NASA’s Artemis I mission, as it is lifted on Oct. 20, 2021, for transfer into High Bay 3 of the Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Orion was lowered on top of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, completing assembly for the Artemis I light test. Teams will begin conducting a series of verification tests ahead of rolling out to Launch Complex 39B for the Wet Dress Rehearsal. Artemis I will be an uncrewed test flight of the Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System rocket as an integrated system ahead of crewed flights to the Moon.
