I Takt og Tone - Hvordan vi omgaas giver Emma Gad læseren gode råd til hensynsfuld opførsel og handlemåde i alle livets forhold. Takt og Tone blev udgivet i 1918 og er i dag at finde blandt klassikerne i dansk litteratur, både på grund af det unikke indblik i tidsperiodens normer, men også på grund af den almengyldighed, Gad advokerer for: "Kun een Hovedregel for alt menneskeligt Samkvem bliver aldrig forældet. Det er den at handle mod sine Medmennesker ud fra et godt Hjerte."
Takt og Tone - Hvordan vi omgaas (in English: Etiquette - About Dealing with People) was published in 1918 and became a classic in Danish literature and cultural history.
